Beer fans and epicureans, save this date and time: July 17 at 7p.m. That’s when Currant American Brasserie is proud to be hosting a particularly exciting event that we know you’ll want to be a part of.
A little background: You’ve undoubtedly caught wind of the craft-beer craze sweeping America—a serious movement that’s inspiring brewers across the globe, even those in legendary and historic brewing centers such as Belgium and Germany.
San Diego (like California in general) is impressively active in that exciting microbrew revolution, and you can explore some of the city’s best local beer at an upcoming celebration right here at Currant American Brasserie!
Beer/Food Pairing
On July 17 at 7 p.m., our own world-class restaurant, Currant American Brasserie, is teaming up with the fabulous folks at Ironfire Brewing Company to host a beer-and-food pairing you won’t want to miss.
This is an excellent opportunity to explore the culinary possibilities of craft beer. After all, “beer” no longer just means a light, crisp lager (as tasty as that can be). Given the fantastic variety of styles America’s creative microbrewers are now producing—from chocolaty stouts and hoppy India Pale Ales to Belgian-style sours—there’s a whole universe of flavors to survey.
Ironfire Brewing Company turns out an impressive spectrum itself; the colorful cast of characters includes the barrel-aged Outcast Dead Imperial Red, the DOA Double IPA, the Vicious Disposition Imperial Porter, and the Gunslinger Golden Ale. (The names are one of the special joys of the modern craft-beer industry.)
Meanwhile, you couldn’t ask for a finer and more adventurous kitchen than American Currant Brasserie’s to provide exquisite dishes to accompany those Ironfire beers. The restaurant and brewery have concocted a stellar menu in which brew and entrée accent one another’s flavor to magical effect.
